Next Generation Volkswagen Van - The T4
From 1970’s till 90’s Volkswagen was replacing its rear-engined vehicles with more modern front-engined models. It happened with Volkswagen Vanagon, a rear engined van that was replaced in 1993 with the front-engined Euro Van. Because the engine was mounted in the front, TDI diesel engines with direct injection were used to power the vehicle. Euro van was offered in different configurations such as the seven-passenger GLS, Weekender, Camper, high-roof panel van and many more.
Euro Van was powered by a 109-horsepower, 2.5 liter five-cylinder engine that drove the front wheels. Euro van was available in three versions, all of which seated seven passengers.
